Discuss how the media has influenced visions of female sexuality in Essay

Discuss how the media has influenced visions of female sexuality in the 21st century - search ExampleOver the years, women have worked hard to attain high levels of education and gain higher positions within the workforce ladder. However, a gender gap understood exists even in these modern days where womens goals and aspirations have been misrepresented. The media has played one of the greatest roles in this as it has conditioned the masses to believe that womens success is based on their appearance and attractiveness (Gentile 2). Despite the fact that women work hard to earn these good jobs and vital roles in the society, they still find the need to appear attractive in order to feel a real sense of success. The media through its advertisements and television programmes has only portrayed attractive women to be successful. As the young children grow assimilating these images in their minds, they can only combine womens success and their appearances (Goh-Mah 2013).The media has cr eated ideals of a perfect female body when presenting women passim their broadcastings in the modern society. The media has programmed people to believe that tall, lean, and light skinned women are a symbol of beauty in the society. This has been emphasised by the fashion and merriment industries, which are mostly viewed by the young generation. Advertisements have upheld and continued to portray this belief as they clearly depict a picture where a charwoman will enhance her appearance just to attract a man that she will get married to (Strohmeier 2013). These are marketing ploys to ensure that these companies sell legion(predicate) beauty products, shoes, clothes and other commodities. Themes of War Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1000 words

Themes of War - Essay ExampleThe reputation of the writer is able to display how war affects all level of society while holding the injure intent that negatively reachs those directly and indirectly involved without good reason. This is displayed through the monologue and the way that the author describes the specific situation. The first way in which the author describes the problem is with the individuals that are fighting in Iraq and what this has caused to their personal lives. This occurs specifically with Cheos brother who is fighting in the war. The conditions which are described show how his brother is pitiful not from the fighting but, instead, from the deprivation of care which is received while being in Iraq. He sat in a tank in the nerve centre of the Saudi Arabian desert. Wrote six, seven, eight hours a day. These brilliant letters of fear (Rivera, 346). The fear is then described with the brother waiting to die while there is nothing to do but wait. This problem is one which continuously arises in the main theme, specifically in how it has affected his brother by creating fear and do him to believe only in death. The conditions of the war and the treatment of the soldiers further show that the Iraqi war is one which is not worth fighting and is only tether to misery and loss of life. The individuals that are affected then move into the familial relationships that have connections to those that are in the war. Cheo, as the main character, is first shown with the effects that he has had toward the war because of him missing his brother and of the pain which he knows he is in. This is followed by his confusion over the rights and beliefs which he knows he should have and which cause a course of study of whether to believe in the war or not. The problem which arises is first seen with Cheos observations of his brother and how he neuters from saying that he loves others to fighting them and no longer having this characteristic. The censure continues with Cheo changing his belief in wanting blood and bombs and waiting every day for Iraq to be bombed so his brother can come home (347). The change in the character of Cheo shows how the relationships of the family and those that are waiting for the war to be over affect the situation even more, as well as the attitudes of those that are primed(p) in the war. The problems noted with the family then turn to the dialogue becoming one of a national and societal problem. This creates a connection that moves from the family and into the political and social impact that is created. And this billboard went up in my town showing Stalin, Hitler, and Hussein, saying we stopped him twice before we have to stop him again This billboard was put up by a local newspaper (348). The attitude created in society is one which shows the same violence that is taking place in the war, despite the lack of knowledge or understanding of what is occurring in the war as well as why it is being foug ht. The theme of violence and how this takes over at every level is displayed through this dialogue and by showing that there is a sense of the war spreading because of attitudes, changing beliefs and the position of being involved in the war. Existence of God Research Paper Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 2000 words

Existence of God - Research Paper ExampleScience moots only in things which brook be proved with the help of experimental facts. In other words, as long as the existence of God proved beyond doubt with some large-hearted of experiments, science may not believe in God. On the other hand, religions give more importance to beliefs rather than facts. According to religious views, science or humans have limitations in explaining the existence of God since God has more power than humans. Creations can never be superior to the creator. In short the arguments in favor and against the concept of God seem to be endless. This paper analyses the arguments in favor and against the existence of God. Arguments in favor and against the existence of God The first purported proofread of the existence of God is the ontological argument. The ontological argument seeks to prove the existence of God from the laws of logic alone. It dates back to St Anselm, an eleventh century philosopher-theologian a nd archbishop of Canterbury, but was also use by the French philosopher Rene Descartes. It argues that once we mentally grasp the concept of God we can see that Gods non-existence is impossible. This argument, if it is successful, demonstrates the existence of a perfect creation that could not possibly fail to exist (Arguments for Gods Existence, 2004). One of the major arguments against God is caused by the invisible nature of God. Atheists are of the view that if God exists, he should come along in a visible form. In their opinion, the existence of invisible things without scientific proof cannot be believed. At the same time it should be noted that we believe that electrons and protons do exists and electricity is the flow of electrons. In other words, we have no problems in believing in the existence of electrons even though we never seen it. However, we can experience the effect of electron flow (electricity) in many ways. We know that a bulb may not be lighted unless the ele ctricity flows by means of its filament. If we can believe in the existence of electrons, we can definitely believe in the existence of God also. Believers can experience the influence of God in many ways. It should be noted that electrons will flow only through good conductors. Objects such as wood, glass, etc like insulators may not conduct electricity. corresponding way God will act only through his believers. In other words, both electrons and the God need a medium for its working. In the grounds of electrons, the medium is conductors whereas in the case of God, the medium is believers. Bad conductors will never stop the concept of electron and same way atheists will never agree with the concept of God. When we look at the design and structure of this universe, we cannot reject the idea of a creator. It is illogical to believe that everything in this universe occurred accidently. In other words the symmetry of this universe provides ample evidences for the existence of god. If universe were smaller, an atmosphere would be impossible, like the planet Mercury. If Earth were larger, its atmosphere would contain free hydrogen, like Jupiter. Earth is the only known planet equipped with an atmosphere of the right mixture of gases to sustain plant, animal and human life. The Earth is located the right distance from the sun. take on the temperature swings we encounter, roughly -30 degrees to +120 degrees. If the Earth were any further away from the sun, we would all freeze. Any closer

Candles, soap thread, cloth and clothing (WE)2 were a luxury that had to be produced by the woman herself. The worse bit of American colonization came during the witch-hunts. The aggrieved Christian colonists needed a reason to explain their defeat at the hands of the hea then Indians. Women were the perfect victims to take the blame. Astronomy 1 - Research Paper ExampleThe space between the universal objects is non vacant and contains gases that are distributed in the space. Due to this phenomenon, absorption lines are created into the universe that are called intercellular lines of gases. Due to expansion of the universe, the stars and other stellar objects are travel farther and faster as compared to speed of light. Therefore, Hubble law is used to find the distance in the universe (Goldsmith & Owen, 2001).Stars are just like light emitting bodies. flow in sparkle can be observed if one moves them further away. Simple mathematical rule is applied for notifying change in obvious brightness of stars as a function of its distance from us. . The mathematical formula is as follow. visible radiation of star is also used to write inverse square law. Luminosity is energy that star emits in each seconds which is measured in watts. It can be described in following manner. If luminosity of star is known then brightne ss can be measured. Then brightness is used for calculating distance (Goldsmith & Owen, 2001).Geologists have assumed that rocks in earth structure are or so 4 billion years old. The stones came from moon and mars also seem to be having same history. It is assumed that earth and planets formed at the same era when sun was formed. Thus our sun is about 5 billion years old approximately. It is huge ball of gas mostly containing hydrogen which is contained due to gravity (Goldsmith & Owen, 2001).The new energy source of sun was proposed by a British astronomer at the end of world war one. He puts three ideas together. Astronomers knew that social movement of hot and dense gases at center of sun are helpful in supporting its weight. Expanding high pressure hot gases maintain the outer storey of sun. Secondly the research proves that four atoms of hydrogen are equal in weight to one helium atom. The same ratio is composed of subatomic particles. mollify the weight of helium is

Complete standardisation in International Marketing strategy is an Essay

Complete standardisation in International Marketing strategy is an unrealistic goal to achieve, and pursuing it will inevitably d - Essay ExampleMarket conditions in one country may be very divers(prenominal) from the conditions in another country. Policies, laws, culture, and other regulations, which determine the reputation of the business environment, may cause the difference. The laws of operations from one company to another ar usually different. Standards are usually derived from a certain pagan environment. They encompass some values that are necessarily designed to serve the interests of particular market situations. As such, their applications are suited to respond to certain needs and situations as dictated by the range of possibilities within a cultural milieu. Many companies regulate their operations in ways that respond to the kind of markets and situations. This regulation is aimed towards the actualization of certain conditions that apply within the specifics of the market. According to analysts, the variation of markets is shown in a range of factors that distinguish between one market and another (Parker, 2005, p. 51). For instance, the levels of income, the nature of infrastructural development, the regulatory policies, and laws may apply differently from one region to another. This implies that the application of certain standards within the different regions would ingest significantly varied impacts. Therefore, the standards are usually designed in ways that provide synergies to one market while denying the same to another market situation. advertizing and marketing strategies are designed in ways that respond to certain standards and expectations. For instance, the message in the advertisement of a certain product may leave significantly in accordance with factors of culture, target clientele, levels of disposable income, and a range of other variables. These factors determine the kind of preference of one product to another. For in stance, it is usually the norm that certain products deserve the application of strict standards as compared to others. Studies have shown that companies that operate with some level of flexibility are more likely to yield tyrannical results than those that are governed by some strict application of the standards. On this score, it becomes difficult to determine the kind of method that could apply equally across different operating(a) environments. The field of operation in the United States may vary significantly from the one in Saudi Arabia. Products, goods, services, and processes in the two countries will ultimately be influenced by the nature of business environment between the two companies. For instance, the sale of mobile telephone services would be tailored on the specific cultural features that apply within one kind of market. The marketing strategy in Saudi Arabia would involve the appropriation of some kind of conservatism that is consistent with the nature of the mark et and the culture of the people. Fossil records are perhaps the outgo natural evidence of evolution. While the fossils of simpler organism are found among older rocks, the newer ones urinate fossils of more complex organisms.. (GCSE, BBC)Evolution is of 2 main types Microevolution and macroevolution. Microevolution emphasises on contractable change from one generation to another while macroevolution deals with the process of gradual change in the physical form of living creatures. (The Process of Speciation, Global revision Program, University of Michigan)This paper will focus on the theory of evolution put forth by Charles Darwin. Key aspects of evolution like the process of Natural Selection and Variation will be discuss ed. Also, with reference to reference to Darwins finches, the paper will describe how geographical isolation has caused new species to evolve from a common sourceDarwin was influenced by observations made during his voyage as naturalist on the survey ship Beagle. After studying several plant and animal species, Charles Darwin published around of his key observations and ideas in his book, The Origin of Species. His theory of evolution comprises 4 parts1. As fossils records maneuvers the world is constantly changing. Several organisms have become extinct and others have changed over time are are rather different from their previously existing forms. 2. All organisms share a common ancestor and hence sure common features.3. The process of change is a gradual one4. The mechanism of evolutionary change is natural selection.(Evolution and Natural Selection, Global Change, University of Michigan)Natural SelectionThe thought of Natural Selection according to Darwin is the mechanism fo r evolutionary change. He discussed Natural Selection in the context of an organism struggle for existence. Every organism Darwin believed tended to produce removed more offspring than can actually survive. Limited resources often caused several of these to perish. As a result, there was intense competition between these organisms and only few survive to live and reproduce further. Darwin also believed that the population within a species remained more or less constant over time. However these species do show a wide variation in features and these variations are passed on from one generation to another. (Ridley, 2003). The following chart describes the process of Natural selection.Source Evolution and Natural Selection, Global Change, University of MichiganFor natural selection to occur, reproduction is a very important aspect. Offsprings inherit certain important features from their parents, which help them in the struggle for existence. withal there are 2 essential requirement, namelya. heritable variation of some trait like the beak or skin colour The differences in these traits could b a result of environmental factors and could often be significant for survival in that environment.differential survival and reproduction of that trait is essential to visualize that (Evolution and Na
